Howard LaGraffe, LPBC

Howard LaGraffe established Targeted Business Solutions, LLC after 15 years as a successful business coach/advisor and sales trainer, in a corporate environment, to small business owners throughout the United States. With an emphasis on sales and marketing, he assisted independent business owners in all areas of their business activities from start-up through sales and operations. Prior to his corporate experience, Howard owned and operated small businesses in the retail, restaurant/entertainment, and publishing business sectors. Howard is a Licensed Professional Business Coach and affiliated with the Professional Business Coaches Alliance (PBCA). He is married to Francine, his wife of 35 years, and together they have two adult sons.

A Message from Howard

Having been a small business owner myself, I understand first-hand the pressures and challenges that small business owners face each and every day. I’ve been known to preach, “If you really want to understand business, forego the MBA and open a dry cleaners or a restaurant or an auto repair shop. You’ll be involved, first-hand, in every aspect of business from accounting to marketing to human resources…whether you like it or not!” It takes an enormous amount of energy just to launch a new business, not to mention the increased energy needed when that business actually starts to percolate. In the beginning, our excitement and entrepreneurial enthusiasm provides that needed push to get the job done and keep our dream in focus. It’s a wonderful feeling of accomplishment.

All too often, however, as the calendar pages flip by, the focus on the dream that the business owner originally held becomes blurred by the challenges, problems, and demands of day-to-day business activities. A longer work schedule, less family time, and more stress become accepted “conditions of employment.” As the business owner, everyone expects you to know everything about everything and you feel compelled to assume that persona to maintain the respect and confidence of your employees and business associates. Wow…that’s a lot of pressure! I know…I’ve been there myself. It’s really tough to change direction and grab control of your business when any day can be described as putting one fire out after the other.

That’s where business coaching comes in. That’s where Targeted Business Solutions, LLC may be able to help. I specifically say “may” because business coaching is not right for everyone. It may not be right for you. Effective business coaching is a process, not an event. It requires a business owner to commit to making changes and taking ownership of that process of change. The business coach provides tools, experience, guidance, and an element of accountability in a confidential environment to help that business owner attain his defined business objectives using realistic and doable action plans.
